about amy
I am a mature social worker with a diverse background from which I have built my practical approach.
My qualifications include a career in real estate, an honours degree in Social Work from the University of Windsor, and registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers. My life experiences support and inform the work I do through a variety of personal experiences from which I have grown both personally and professionally.
The privilege of living and working in a variety of settings has provided me with a unique ability to relate to a broad range of clients from many backgrounds and experiences.
My career in real estate has given me insight into the many ups and downs of working in a competitive field as well as the work/home balance that is crucial to success. Being self-employed has allowed me to feel the fears and anxieties of risking it all for a dream and the commitment it takes to fuel the process. I can say with confidence that the experience of trying my best sure outweighs having never tried at all!
My move to social work and private practice is based on the belief that all individuals have capacity for change, growth and healing. With a sense of humour, and a nurturing demeanor, I provide my clients a safe, supportive environment in which to help facilitate positive change while facing challenging life issues.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves: who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?...And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people the permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
